Sudanese Community Celebrates Eid al-Fitr in Manchester: A Day of Joy and Unity

في مشهد يعكس روح التآلف والتنوع الثقافي، شاركت الجالية السودانية في مانشستر بفعالية مميزة ضمن احتفالات عيد الفطر المبارك، وذلك في إطار الفعالية السنوية “Eid in the Park” التي جمعت مختلف الجاليات العربية والإسلامية في المدينة لأداء صلاة العيد في أجواء إيمانية مفعمة بالفرح والبهجة.
منذ ساعات الصباح الأولى، توافد أبناء الجالية السودانية مع أسرهم إلى الحديقة العامة، مرددين تكبيرات العيد التي امتزجت بأصوات الجاليات العربية والآسيوية والأفريقية، في مشهد رائع يعكس وحدة المسلمين وتلاحمهم في المملكة المتحدة. وبعد أداء الصلاة والاستماع إلى خطبة العيد، تبادل الجميع التهاني والتبريكات في أجواء من المحبة والأخوة.
وعقب الصلاة، نظمت الجالية السودانية برنامجاً احتفالياً متنوعاً تخللته عروض فنية وثقافية وأناشيد للأطفال، إلى جانب أركان للأطعمة الشعبية السودانية مثل العصيدة والكسرة والقهوة بالزنجبيل. كما ازدانت الساحة بالأعلام السودانية والعربية في مشهد يعبّر عن الفخر بالهوية والانتماء، ويجسد حرص الجالية على مشاركة ثقافتها مع الآخرين.
وشارك في الحفل عدد من ممثلي الجاليات العربية والأفريقية المقيمة في مانشستر، الذين أكدوا أن مثل هذه المناسبات تعزز التواصل الاجتماعي وتكرّس قيم التسامح والتعايش التي تحتضنها المدينة.
وفي ختام اليوم، عبّر منظمو الفعالية عن شكرهم للجهات المحلية الداعمة التي ساهمت في إنجاح الاحتفال، مؤكدين أن مثل هذه الأنشطة تسهم في تعزيز روح الانتماء، وبناء جسور التواصل الإيجابي بين الجاليات المسلمة والمجتمع البريطاني.

In a vivid scene of cultural harmony and togetherness, the Sudanese community in Manchester joined thousands of Muslims to celebrate Eid al-Fitr as part of the annual “Eid in the Park” event. The celebration brought together diverse Arab and Islamic communities who gathered in the city’s main park to perform the Eid prayer in an atmosphere filled with spirituality, joy, and unity.
From the early morning hours, members of the Sudanese community arrived with their families, their voices joining others in the collective rhythm of takbeerat al-Eid, creating a powerful image of unity among Muslims from across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. After the prayer and sermon, attendees exchanged warm greetings and embraced one another, reflecting the shared values of brotherhood and compassion that define the festival.
Following the prayer, the Sudanese community organized a vibrant cultural program that featured traditional Sudanese music, children’s performances, and food stalls serving popular dishes such as Asida, Kisra, and spiced Sudanese coffee. The venue was beautifully decorated with Sudanese and Arab flags, symbolizing pride in heritage and a spirit of cultural exchange.
The event also attracted representatives from other Arab and African communities who praised the Sudanese community’s active participation and the positive message of coexistence and inclusion it embodied.
Organizers expressed their gratitude to the local authorities and supporting organizations for facilitating the event, emphasizing that such gatherings play a vital role in strengthening cultural identity, promoting unity, and fostering positive integration among Muslim communities in the United Kingdom.
